All About Relationships
Little Things Mean a Lot
When I was young there was a song by that very title. Little did I realize then how much truth is in those words. When it comes to expressing love to those we care about, little things really do mean a lot. Let’s look at how this works in our marriages. When my husband takes time to text me encouragement throughout the day, brings me a gift, or prepares my coffee pot for the day ahead, it tells me that he thinks about me – that I am important to him. Likewise, when I bring home tapioca pudding from the store, encourage him to take time out for himself, or leave a love note in his car, he is reminded that I am thinking of him and value our relationship. None of these expressions take a great deal of time, money or effort. However, they communicate love in a big way. It is so important that we invest in those things that truly matter most. Making it a priority to show your love – even in little ways – will have such a big impact on the condition of your relationships. Don’t limit this truth to just marriage either. For example, kids delight in cards sent through old-fashioned snail mail, a special treat given “just because”, or even extra cuddle time with mom or dad. Any creative way to show others you are thinking of them can make a world of difference in their day!
What will you do today to show others you really care?!
All About Health
Improve Your Health with Living Food
One of the simplest ways we can improve our health is to limit our intake of processed foods and replace them with live foods instead. Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains can dramatically reduce the risk of disease while increasing your overall health. In our culture it is so easy to turn to the processed, nutritionally void convenient options presented in our stores. But making little changes can lead us, in time, to a lifestyle change that provides substantial health benefits. Instead of snacking on chips, cookies, and other “dead” foods, reach for a “living” alternative.
Here are some of our favorites:
For sweet snacks alternative try: bananas, apples, dates, raisins, pears, watermelon, strawberries, tangerines, grapes, almonds mixed with dried cranberries, or cantaloupe.
To satisfy your craving for salt try: cucumber, baked potatoes, celery, air popped popcorn, rye bread, sugar snap peas, pecans, sunflower seeds, or hard boiled eggs.
Making small changes throughout the day can lessen the cravings for sugar and processed foods – making it even easier to reach for the living food alternatives in the future.

So You Really Want Eternal Life?
Alright, I suppose that’s a ridiculous question. Of course we want to spend eternity in the presence of God. But what exactly is eternal life? Jesus tells us in John 17 verse 3 that eternal life is relationship with the Living God. The amplified Bible puts it this way:
“And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.”
So to say we want eternal life means that we want to grow in our relationship with (not just knowledge of) God. This intimate relationship can begin because of the sacrifice Jesus offered on the cross. He made the way for us to enter God’s presence and have fellowship with Him.
However, how important is that relationship to us? For a sad number of “believers” – daily life shows little effort of pursuing honest, committed, intimate relationship with God. At best, our relationship with God is relegated to a few hours of devotion on Sunday morning coupled with sincere efforts not to commit “major” sins that might offend Him.
But that is not why Jesus came and died for us. He came so that we can have a deep relationship with our Creator. If that is not a sincere pursuit of our daily life NOW – how will we convince Him we desire that relationship once we die? Are we not in danger of hearing “depart from me, I never knew you”?
God wants a relationship with you NOW – not in some ethereal future. He paid a tremendous price to come and set you free – to release you into the fullness of life for which you were designed. You will never come to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, or understand the One who loves you if you don’t make time with Him a priority.
So do you really want eternal life? How does it show in your daily living?
All About Finances
Generating Multiple Streams of Income
We don’t need to spend any time discussing the many difficulties people are facing as a result of rising prices and stagnating wages. Few of us are at a point where it is NOT a struggle to make ends meet. Unexpected expenses such as auto repairs, medical bills, school fees, and so on, are enough to take us over the “cliff” of financial difficulty.
Cutting corners and being frugal go only so far in today’s economy. So what is one to do?
Sometimes the solution is not just to minimize expenses – at times we must look for ways to create additional income. In today’s job market, adding a second (or maybe third) job isn’t necessarily the best alternative. Yet there are additional ways to generate income besides just earning a paycheck.
For example, have you ever considered becoming an “info”preneur? If you have a passion in a particular area – you can build a website that generates income by sharing your knowledge. Not a techie? That’s okay too because there are programs out there that can help you take your ideas and make them “live” on the web.
Site Build It is a user friendly web program that caters to beginners and experts alike. They are currently offering scholarships to qualified applicants that show sincere dedication to pursuing the passion of creating their own online business. Learn more at by visiting http://www.sitesell.org/.

You Have Power over Your Feelings
We all have them; those events that happen that seem to create a mini-volcano in your soul. Arguments with a spouse, disobedient children, demanding bosses, financial frustration, inconsiderate colleagues, or unforeseen crises can grate on our sense of well-being.
However, we must be careful not to let our feelings rule over us. While we all fall short, we cannot excuse our reactions on our feelings.
How often we hear horror stories of abuse or harm done in a fit of rage. The perpetrator then wants to blame the victim for making him or her “feel” so angry that they lost control. This is a lie meant to excuse the perpetrator from taking responsibility for their actions.
While our own “fits of rage” may not be so dramatic, they still damage the souls of anyone in its path. Harsh words get spoken; hatred gets communicated in word or deed; relationships are damaged; blood pressure rises; and, so on.
There is only one person who has power over the way you feel and what you choose to do with those feelings. That person is YOU. If you do not like the “fruit” of your responses, maybe it is time to consider a new approach. Our life coaches can help you improve coping skills and develop greater emotional health!
